Rob Robson MSc, C.Psychol

Rob is a Chartered Psychologist with a range of consulting and development experiences improving business and sports performance. His particular interest is in applying psychology to create a climate for performance, which includes using research to identify motivational drivers and barriers, formulating interventions, and working with leaders and managers to create change.

A former International swimmer, and current competitor in masters swimming, he holds a MA (Hons) degree in Psychology with Business from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology (with distinction) from the University of Exeter.

He started his business career with Price Waterhouse as a graduate trainee in IT Consulting and worked on SAP Implementations across Europe for clients such as Shell, Unilever, Xerox and Hoffman La Roche.

In 2002, after leading teams and training future team leaders Rob left to fulfill a burning ambition of working as a sport psychologist. While be completed his apprenticeship on a self-employed basis he worked with individuals, teams and organisations in a number of sports, including football, swimming, canoeing and athletics, up to World Class level.

When Rob’s young family started to grow, however, he returned to consulting as a Change Manager for Atos Consulting. He worked on large business change programmes for Network Rail and the National Health Service.

In January 2007 Rob joined Apter International, building upon a relationship of several years, where he headed up the Employee Profiling and Research Business in addition to delivering organisational development projects for clients including HSBC, SABMiller, Boots and West Sussex County Council.
